This 10-minute routine will strengthen your entire core revealing a toned, refined midsection.
Happy Work it Wednesday you beautiful soul! Before we dive into today’s workout, I wanted to thank you all for the amazingly positive response on my latest Life Lately post. I was honored and pleasantly surprised to see that so many of you are in fact interested in getting to know me as a person (who knew?! HA) and that you appreciated having things get a little more personal. I won’t be turning this space into a diary, but it is nice to see how supportive you guys are.
Alright, back to the workout. Today we are going to work that core. Having functional core strength is incredibly important because your core is the powerhouse for your body and its strength is essential to stabilize every move you make. While it can be easy to just focus on wanting “abs” (aka defining the rectus abdominis), it is still important to strengthen the obliques (sides of the abs) and lower back to prevent industry and help promote good posture.
This workout focuses on functional movements that strengthen your core for everyday life. There are no crunches, and no equipment needed. All you need to do is complete each exercise for 60 seconds, repeating the entire circuit twice. Ten minutes, total core strength. You got this.
Here are links to video demonstrations of each move:
Break Dancers
Plank Hip Dips
Side Plank Pike (Complete for 30 seconds on each side)
Push Up to Fallen Star
Plank Walk Outs

Thank you so much for this workout! I have been down and out in the fitness game and this was a great ‘first step’. I really like the core, but would love more “silent’ workouts like these you can do in an upper level apartment. Any body part will do.
Thank you so much for your comment, Marian! Best of luck jumping back into things – let me know if you have any questions or need advice getting back in the swing of things!
