This Post Workout Green Smoothie is the perfect way to refuel after your workout. With a healthy dose of carbs, greens, and protein this simple smoothie is sure to be a staple in your routine.
Let’s be real, smoothies got a little *extra* for awhile there. Somewhere in 2016/2017, smoothies went from Beyonce to Sasha Fierce. Every superfood imaginable (things got expensive). Every vegetable we can pack in the blender (v. ambitious). Every topping imaginable. Instagram totally got the best of us, friends.
After things started getting a little too fancy, I totally got burned out on smoothies. I was over them. Over trying to make them pretty for Instagram. Over crazy ingredients and elaborate bowls. I also found that my digestive system didn’t love super-loaded smoothies either, and often found myself feeling bloated after having them. So I broke up with smoothies for awhile.
But a few months ago, my love for smoothies came back. But it came back craving simplicity.
These days, I make super simple smoothies that are delicious, refreshing, and nourishing, and this smoothie is totally one of them. As an avid morning exerciser, breakfast usually serves as my post-workout meal and this smoothie is one of my go-to’s. It has everything you need:
✔️ Healthy Carbs (from banana and frozen pineapple)
✔️ Protein (from Vital Proteins Vanilla Collagen Peptides)
✔️ Healthy Fat (from Chia Seeds)
✔️ Electrolytes (from Coconut Water)
✔️ Greens (because it’s an easy way to get some vegetable action)
When it comes to protein in my smoothies, Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides have been my go-to for a while now. A lot of traditional protein powder options were hard for me to digest and totally overpowered the flavor in my smoothies, which is why I love the plain Collagen Peptides and the Vanilla Coconut Collagen Peptides (which add a light vanilla flavor without being overly sweet). I love that their collagen is easy to digest, doesn’t have any added sweeteners or funky ingredients, and adds just enough protein to my smoothies.
So grab your ingredients, blend them all up, and sip this bad boy after finishing your Fall Into Fit workout. You glow girl.
