You are going to love this quick, effective bodyweight workout! Work every major muscle group in your body in under 30 minutes – no equipment required.
Happy Work It Wednesday! It has been a hot minute since I have posted a workout or WIW post on the blog. Last fall, I decided I was going to try and “niche down” by only posting food and recipes on the blog. Yawn.
Nothing against the strictly food bloggers of the world, I just found that by only sharing recipes I was closing off so much other content and information to share with my peeps. So while it goes against all conventional blogging advice, I want to mix things up a bit and share more versatile content when inspiration strikes. And let’s face it, I have never been good at following rules.
I have a ton of experience when it comes to implementing practical fitness, and I would rather share that information with a smaller group of engaged readers than try to appeal to a wide range of people by cranking out the same recipes as everyone else in the blogosphere each week.
I’m off my soap box now. And I will also be sharing a recipe tomorrow, so I can’t knock food blogging too much π
I put together this quick and dirty bodyweight circuit that can be done anywhere and doesn’t take much time to complete. It combines some of my favorite moves in a speedy circuit that will have your muscles burnin’ up.
Here are video demonstrations of each move:
- In and out jumps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpOPhwWRgLw
- V-sits: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fHhWmntPXo
- Curtsy Lunge to Abduction (complete 12 reps per leg, although the instructor in the video uses a dumbbell you do not have to): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEd0f4t1hsQ
- Plank + Glute Kickback: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBjX2lZJ2Nc
- Downward Dog pushup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvZl_1EtMBM
- Prone Row: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRqDsZ83_zM
My favorite move is that prone row. I love doing it several times per week to really target those postural muscles (which we can all use a little help with). Those in and out jumps are killer too!
Leave a comment below if you give this workout a try! I would love to know what you think of it π
Your Turn:0

- What other fitness-related posts would you like to see?
- Bloggers: do you stay within a specific niche, or do you blog about a variety of topics?
I love doing step ups, squats and lunges. Great routine here.
Thanks Ivanna! Those are some of my favorites too π and I must say, I am LOVING your workout videos on Facebook. So jealous of your cute workout room!
I’m glad you’re switching it up and posting more workouts!! I think it fits with you and your brand perfectly. I’m also really excited to give this workout a try!! Now that I can’t afford a gym, I’m looking for all the bodyweight workouts I can find.
I’ve always been a food blogger, but I’ve been posting a little more lifestyle things and am actually thinking of broadening my posting horizon and doing more self-love/self-care posts because it’s a topic that’s so important to me.
Thanks Leah! I really appreciate that – and if you did start posting more self-love/self-care posts that would be amazing. We can all use a little boost in that department, and we would love to see what you share!
Go with the flow dear! It’s okay to branch out!!
Favorite body weight exercises are PUSHUPS and PLANKS!
Thanks girl! I know you get it π And YAS. Pushups and planks are everything.
This would definitely be a great workout for those days you’re wanting to “feel the burn”. Thanks for sharing! π
Yes, exactly – sometimes you just need to fit in a quick burn π Thanks Cara!
Love easy and quick workouts I can do at home! and it is awesome that you linked the YouTube videos! Pinned! π
Thanks for your comment Lauren – so glad you found the videos helpful! π
Ahh this sounds like it would kill my abs, but that is my problem area so I will definitely try this workout!
There are definitely a lot of good core burners here – you totally got this!
I’ve never heard of a Prone Row before! It looks like it would make my body hurt the next day LOL, but in a good way.
My favorite body weight exercise is a wall sit. They are so simple and really burn my legs and make me feel like I’m working hard π
The Prone Row is killer, but is so good for strengthening the postural muscles – so important! And YES I am so glad you like wall sits – they are one of my faves too! Such a good burn.
I definitely blog about quite a few topics under health! While I appreciate those who have a specific niche, I think at the end of the day you need to create content that you love. I’d love to see more vertebral and TRX workouts π
Whole-heartedly agree with you Janelle – thanks for your thoughtful comment! And oooh great feedback. I LOVE TRX and can definitely post some how-to’s in the future!
Thanks for creating this workout! Some of these moves I have never heard of, so I will check out the YouTube links and try!!! I am always looking for new workouts.
Great – thanks Maya! I hope you like the new moves π
I’m such a huge fan of body-weight workouts, especially when on the go or traveling away from normal running paths and your familiar gym. – Katy
Love bodyweight exercises…no need for a gym membership!
Yes exactly – hope you love the workout!
I’m gearing up to start a weekly workout – can’t wait to try this!
That’s great! Let me know what you think if you give it a try π
This seems like a great workout! I love that you added links to demonstrations of the moves because I hate when I’m looking at a workout and have no idea what something is.
Totally agree – it is always helpful to see the full movement if you’re unfamiliar with it!
What an informative post- it’s awesome! I’ve never heard of a prone row before! Gotta try this circuit.
Thanks Amanda! It’s my favorite move to gently work those postural muscles – so helpful since so many of us spend a lot of time sitting!
I was curious if you have descriptions for the workout moves? I’m in Alaska and my internet is just too slow to watch videos. π Although I bet if I google them I may find descriptions. lol
Thanks for your feedback Amanda! I’ll definitely consider that for future posts π
