This energizing bowl is like a matcha latte in smoothie form. Packed with antioxidants, and a serving of veggies, this smoothie bowl is the perfect way to start your day on a healthy note!
If you have been reading the blog for a little while, you have probably caught onto the fact that I like smoothies. In fact, I like having a smoothie for breakfast nearly every day no matter how cold it is outside. Nothing beats a creamy, sweet smoothie first thing in the morning. If you agree, then you are going to love the rest of this post.
Since the new year is just getting started and healthy living resolutions are well underway, my blogging buddies and I figured the time was right to share some of our favorite smoothie bowl recipes. I wanted to change things up a bit by going more herbal instead of fruity with my Creamy Matcha Smoothie Bowl. After recently rediscovering my obsession with matcha lattes, I knew a matcha smoothie bowl needed to happen.
I’m excited to share the recipe, along with five more beautiful smoothie bowls!

I know, you want them all right?
This Matcha Smoothie Bowl, is a little different from your traditional smoothie. It’s not very fruity, but instead is insanely creamy, naturally sweetened and packs an antioxidant punch thanks to the matcha powder. I opted to top mine with bee pollen, and coconut cream. You could top it with fruit, nuts, seeds, granola…whatever your little heart desires. Enjoy!
- ¾ Cup Almond or Coconut Milk
- 1 Frozen Banana
- 1 Handful of Spinach
- ¼ Avocado
- ½ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract or the Pods from 1 Vanilla Bean (or both if you love Vanilla)
- 2-3 Soft, Pitted Dates (soak in warm water for a few minutes if your dates aren't soft)
- 1-2 Teaspoons Matcha Powder (start with one teaspoon and work your way up)
- Ice
- Toppings of choice
- Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.
- Pour into a bowl and top as desired.
Your Turn:
- What are some of your favorite breakfast foods?
- Do you have any unique smoothie ingredients you’re loving lately?
I agree-smoothies are perfect no matter how cold it is outside. Delicious smoothie friend, and happy Friday!

Very pretty!!! Avo creaminess is a good thing 😉 And love matcha for smoothies! I’ve only ever used it for smoothies or baked goods…never an actual tea or latte 😛
