Heading on-the-go right after your workout? These simple post-workout DIY’s featuring Aura Cacia Essential Oil Blends will have you feeling rejuvenated after your sweat session.
It is no secret that I love a good DIY project. There is just something so fun and rewarding about using one-of-a-kind, goodies that you made yourself. DIYs allow me to be creative, experiment with new beauty products and focus on a little self-care. So basically, all of my absolute favorite things. And I know I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating – what we put on our bodies is just as important as what we put in our bodies. Making my own products allows me to control exactly what I’m putting on my skin, which is extremely important for our overall health.
As someone who usually gets ready for the day out of my gym bag, I am always looking for products to help me freshen up on-the-go. I teamed up with Aura Cacia to show you guys a few of my favorite DIY gym-bag products. I used several products from their new DIY Essential Oil Blends line which is perfect for making beauty and body care products. They came up with some amazing oils for hair, skin, body, and nails that are perfectly blended. Swoon.
DIY Post-Workout Body Spray
Let’s set the stage for a minute. Say it is a Monday morning and you are feeling really motivated to jump-start your week. You wake up and get in an early morning workout before heading to work. You’re feeling super energized and bust out an amazing HIIT session. After your workout, you hop in the shower, get dressed and start making your way to work. However, after a little while, you realize your heart rate is still a bit elevated, and you’re even still sweating a little. You’re short on time, but want to freshen up a bit more. What’s a girl to do?
First off, I want to congratulate you for having an awesome workout and getting your excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC) going. You know I had to get nerdy on you for a second there. Second, have no fear. This DIY post-workout spray will have you feeling renewed, so fresh and so clean in no time.
- 1 Teaspoon Vegetable Glycerin
- 20 Drops Renew Essential Oil Blend
- 2-ounce Glass Bottle (I used the Aura Cacia Amber Mist Bottle)
- 2 Ounces Filtered Water
- Combine all ingredients in a glass bottle. Secure lid tightly, and shake until blended.
- To use, spray lightly over the body. Make sure you avoid your eyes.
DIY Post-Workout Facial Cleansing Pads
Alright, let’s talking about post-workout skin care. If you workout while wearing makeup, it is so important to make sure your skin is nice and clean after your workout. The combination of makeup and sweat can lead to breakout city. Even if you don’t have time to give yourself a thorough face-washing, these cleansing pads are an awesome start.
- 1 ounce Filtered Water
- 1 ounce Witch Hazel
- 1 Teaspoon Vegetable Glycerin
- 6 Drops Uncover Facial Care Blend
- Cotton Rounds
- Wide-Mouthed Glass Jar with Lid (I used this one)
- In your jar, combine the water, witch hazel, glycerin, and essential oil blend. Secure the lid and gently shake until combined
- Place ~10-15 cotton rounds (depending on the size of your jar) into your glass jar. Gently shake to allow the cleansing liquid to saturate the cotton rounds.

Lovely photos! I am so guilty of wearing makeup while working out but I always make a point to wash my face the second I get home. Do you bring this stuff to the gym too?
Hi Talia! Most mornings I get ready for the day at the gym, so I usually bring everything with me 🙂
I actually adoreee DIY bottles and labels like this. They are so cute and would the PERFECT stocking stuffer. I recently got into essential oils when I got a Saje diffuser, and i’m obsessed with them. I didn’t think you could use em for cleansing pads too!
Ooooh you can use them for anything and everything. Diffusing oils is my JAM. What’s your favorite scent?
I love the idea of making your own facial cleansing pads, I go through SO many facial wipes!
I do too! Enjoy 🙂
I usually work out while my toddler is napping and then need something to clean off my my face before the craziness of after school activities begins with my older kids. I have been using Stridex pads, but love the idea of these DIY pads!
DIY is totally the way to go in my opinion!
