These rich, velvety, easy vegan chocolate truffles are the perfect treat for your next celebration. They require only a few simple ingredients and pair well with a good glass of wine.
What is it about chocolate and wine that makes us all weak in the knees? As I get older, I find myself loving these two delicacies more and more. Don’t get me wrong, I have always liked chocolate, but I distinctly remember being easily overwhelmed by it in my younger years. I often felt like some goodies were too chocolatey, and would usually go for vanilla over anything fudgy and chocolatey. While I do still prefer a vanilla (or funfetti) cake over a chocolate one, I have thankfully learned to love all things fudgy.
The same thing goes for wine. In my early 20’s, wine wasn’t really my thing. But for real, what college kid likes slowly sipping a classy glass of wine? No one I knew 😉
As my 20’s roll on, and adulthood gets more real by the day, a nice glass of wine at the end of a long day is a treat I savor and appreciate every once and awhile. Give me a side of chocolate with it, and I’m a happy girl.
I recently re-made a chocolate truffle recipe I originally posted here on the blog ages ago. The truffles are amazing – they’re rich, decadent, and are made with a few simple ingredients. Since that post (and the awful photos) are buried way back in the archives, I wanted to share it again so you can enjoy this chocolatey goodness.I enjoyed my truffles with a glass of Natura Carmenere Wine. If you enjoy wine and haven’t tried Natura wines yet, get on it sister. Natura is an awesome company that makes affordable wines from organic grapes. Swoon.
These truffles are perfect for your New Year’s celebration, your next girl’s night, or anytime you have a chocolate craving that needs to be handled.
Easy Vegan Chocolate Truffles
Prep: | Cook: | Total: |
You'll Need...
- ¾ Cup Coconut Cream (the solid portion of a can of coconut milk)
- 2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
- 1 Cup Chopped Dark Chocolate
- Cocoa Powder, for dusting
Directions
- Place the chopped chocolate in a medium bowl and set aside.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the coconut cream and coconut oil. Stir until the mixture is melted and smooth.
- Shortly before the mixture begins to boil, pour into the bowl of chopped chocolate. Quickly stir the mixture so the chocolate completely melts, and the mixture is completely smooth and combined.
- Place the mixture in the fridge to set (approximately 3 hours).
- Once the mixture is solid and malleable, use a tablespoon or cookie dough scoop to scoop mixture into little balls. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet, then put back in fridge for an additional 30 minutes to set in their shape.
- Dust truffles in cocoa powder and serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to serve.
Your Turn:
- Have your tastes changed as you’ve gotten older?
- What are some of your favorite ways to treat yourself?

Oooh I love the look of these and yes I cannot drink wine now, how weird is that, my taste buds seems to have completely changed, but chocolate now that is different, I can still eat that. Got to give these a try, thanks for the recipe.
I hope you love them Lorraine!
Hi! Could I use vegetable oil in place of the coconut oil in you Cookie Dough for One? Thanks in advance! By the way, these truffles look amazing, your photography is great! Definitely will be making this weekend!
Hi Evelyn! I wouldn’t recommend it, mainly because vegetable oil is highly processed and usually not heart healthy. It may also alter the flavor. Thank you so much for visiting! <3
