Sharing the latest installment of my personal and wellness goals for the month of October.
Long time no talk about this little thing called life around here. For several months, I was on a good roll sharing my monthly goals and progress to the previous month’s goals. Then September happened, and all structure went out the window. Before diving into October goals, let’s chat about August goal progress.
August Goals
My first goal was to clean up my eats and focus on meal prepping again. This kind of happened and kind of didn’t happen. In August/September, I did a better job at cutting back on the junk food but didn’t make as much food at home as I (or my bank account) would have liked. Getting back into my solid weekly meal prep groove is definitely something I am still working on.
My second goal was to attend four new fitness classes. Again, I was close but no dice. I did try a Pure Barre platform class (and wrote about it here) in August and Fly Barre in September. I thoroughly enjoyed both, but due to scheduling, I didn’t attend a new class each week like I wanted to.
My last goal was to make time for more fun. Overall, I really think I have gotten a lot better at this! My birthday was in August, and at the last minute, I decided to celebrate with friends which was fun and much-needed. I’m still working on incorporating “pure joy” activities into my schedule on a weekly basis. Definitely a work in progress, as I often feel like I need to constantly be productive. Slowly but surely I am working through my workaholic tendencies. Baby steps friends. Baby steps.
October Goals
1. Stop Procrastinating.
Ok, maybe setting a goal to “stop procrastinating” is pretty lofty. Instead of trying to completely do away with my sometimes last-minute work habits, I would like to focus on not procrastinating recurring tasks that I tend to put off. Every week I have a set of tasks that I need to finish to ensure this blog/my business runs smoothly. Some of them I enjoy and make plenty of time for. Others I dread and hold off until the last minute. To kick my procrastination habit, I really want to focus on finishing the tasks I dread and tend to put off at the beginning of the week. My own version of “eating the frog.”
2. Read More Blogs.
I have been horrible about reading blogs. The crazy thing is, reading other blogs is what made me fall in love with blogging in the first place. Back in the day, I would spend hours upon hours perusing blogs and finding new writers to follow. In the hustle and bustle of life and creating my own blog, reading other blogs on a regular basis has fallen by the wayside. I would like to try and discover one new blog to read each week. What are some of your favorite blogs to read? Leave some recommendations for me in the comments!
I also want to comment on blogs more often. I used to be all over the comments section of other blogs to express support for my blogging peers. These days, I still harbor all of that support in my heart, but I haven’t been prioritizing leaving comments. It is definitely time to get back in the swing of that!
3. Launch the next round of Elevated Movement.
As you may have seen, last month I launched my first online boot camp Elevated Movement. I have been coaching a small, dedicated group of ladies through a six-week workout program created by yours truly, and have loved working with this amazing group. They are seeing some amazing results, and I am so inspired by them I want to open the program up again. I have gotten a lot of great feedback from my participants this time around on how I can make it even better, and I am really excited to make some improvements and open it back up. I will be starting another round on Monday, October 31. Your Turn:
- What are you working on this month?
- What blogs do I need to check out?
I definitely feel you on reading other blogs! I used to have a routine where I would wake up and eat breakfast/drink tea while catching up on my fave blogs. I miss that! Life just got in the way. :/ I love seeing what everyone else is crushing, and reading what other people write gets my creative juices flowing. Hopefully I can carve out some time for this!
Yes! Like, we love doing it but when things get busy it is really easy for that to fall off the radar. Let’s keep each other accountable!
Looooove! I’m so excited about how great the Elevate Movement is going for you <3 This month I'm working on moving more and spending more time outside – things I know make me feel good but are easy to push aside.
I read a crazy amount of blogs – mostly about food/wellness. But I've been loving Introvert Dear and Advice From A Twenty Something lately!!
Happy October, sweet lady!
Thank you so much dear! Those sound like amazing goals, and things we all can benefit from.
I love Advice from a Twenty Something – I will definitely have to check out Introvert Dear too. Thanks for the recommendation! Have a wonderful month <3
These are great goals. I also get inspiration from reading blog and love reading them. One of my goals is to grow my blog community and I think reading and commenting on blogs help with that. One thing I’ve learned about blogging is you have to show love to get love.
Yes absolutely! That is a great goal ๐
I’ve been the same about reading/commenting on other blogs. I used to dedicatedly do them all and the last few weeks, I’ve been in a blah pattern of skim-share-work on my own stuff. I love engaging with other bloggers, though. Time to get back to that!
Yeaaaa I feel ya girl! I love reading other blogs SO much and it’s part of why I started my own blog…but as you already know TIME is always an issue! Oh and the procrastination, is me to a T! I am really bad for some reason about doing small tasks, so I am trying the “if it takes under two minutes do it NOW” thing…hopefully it will help because all those small things add up when you never do them (aka story of my life!) ๐
So there on reading other blogs! Heck blogging is even a goal of mine. I think you’re right when it comes to reading other blogs is what inspires one to continue to write. So glad to see that through all of this time I’ve been on a wedding hiatus from blogging you’ve been up to GREAT things lady!!!
Jillie! First of all, congratulations! I remember reading your engagement post and feeling SO excited for you. It is so great to hear from you. Welcome back!
