I think I have finally gotten into the holiday spirit. I bought/wrapped a few presents, lit my Christmas candles, exchanged cookies and did a little holiday caroling with friends. It feels so much better to finally be in the swing of things.
For a lot of people, holiday cheer kicks in when Starbucks starts serving drinks out of red cups. Although I’ve always been more of a homemade coffee kind of gal, I have a real weakness for Skinny Peppermint Mochas. It is incredibly comforting and reminds me of the good old days being hyped up on sugar (usually Cranberry Bliss Bars) and caffeine busting through homework in high school. As I’ve gotten older I have become more fond of making my own versions of my favorites because I actually know what’s in it, and eating/drinking my own creation is so much more satisfying. Enter: this Protein Peppermint Mocha “Milkshake”.
I wanted my beloved Peppermint Mocha in milkshake form. For breakfast. Is that too much to ask? Didn’t think so. So I made this beauty. And it definitely brings all the boys to the yard. Okay maybe not all the boys… But it is still very tasty.
Chocolate + Peppermint = match made in heaven. If you’d like an easy, festive on the go breakfast or a minty chocolatey treat with a kick give this a try.
